Born and raised on the west side of Los Angeles County in the beach community of Pacific Palisades, Brant has called Malibu home since 1996. His love and respect for the ocean and mountains has taken him traveling across the globe in search of challenge and adventure. Brant previously owned and operated Mountain Adventures Unlimited Adventure Travel from 1995-2003, and in 2001, he organized and led Expedition Commitment to a successful ascent of Mt. Everest via the Southeast Ridge. In 2015, Brant traveled to the Karakorum Range in Pakistan and was part of a small team attempting to climb K2, the second highest mountain in the world via the Abruzzi Spur. He reached over 22,000 feet, and returned safely after the expedition was forced to retreat due to difficult weather, and a massive avalanche destroyed the team's high camp and swept away their high altitude oxygen supply. Some other climbers in the area were not so lucky.
